Weather protection & security
We engineered the BAKBox with the same weather-seal approach as our tonneau covers. A continuous rubber gasket runs the perimeter of the lid, compressing against the box edge when locked to create a barrier against rain and snow. Drainage channels molded into the base direct any moisture that does enter toward exit points, preventing standing water.
The keyed lock cylinder uses a rotating latch mechanism that engages steel reinforcement points on both sides of the lid. This dual-point locking provides security while maintaining weather seal integrity — the lock applies even pressure across the gasket rather than creating stress points that could compromise the seal over time.
