We manufacture every BAKFlip G2 panel from aerospace-grade aluminum alloy, the same material used in aircraft components where strength-to-weight ratio is critical. Each panel measures just over an inch thick but provides rigid protection against impacts, hail, and attempted break-ins.
The matte powder-coat finish we apply to every panel does more than look good. This industrial coating resists chipping from gravel, oxidation from road salt, and fading from constant sun exposure. Yes, the G2 works with most spray-in bedliners including Rhino Lining, Line-X, and similar coatings. The rail clamps adjust to accommodate the additional thickness of spray-in liners. Thick drop-in plastic liners that sit on top of the bed rails may require removal or modification for proper fitment. We include multiple spacer sets with each cover to fine-tune the fit for your specific bed configuration.
Absolutely. The three-panel design lets you open just one or two panels while keeping the rest of your bed covered and secured. The automatic latching system holds each panel in its open position, so you can access the front of your bed while keeping cargo in the rear protected. Many customers open just the first panel for daily use and fold all three panels for larger loads.
The complete G2 system weighs approximately 60-70 pounds depending on your bed length. The G2 provides excellent weather protection with its sealed panel system and integrated drainage channels. While no tonneau cover is 100% waterproof in extreme conditions, the seal system keeps the vast majority of water out during normal rain and car washes. The drain channels route any moisture that does penetrate safely out of your bed. We do not recommend pressure washing directly at the panel seams or using the cover as a swimming pool.
